Summer Care 2013

Registration has opened for FCC Summer Care!  Summer care is for children entering 1st-6th grades.  You can sign up by the week and your child can attend full time (5 days) or part time (3 days)! Information on pricing, payments, activities, and much more can be found at http://www.fcc-online.org and click 'Ministries' then 'Elementary' to find the registration forms.

Spring Break Activities!!!

Hey parents! It's starting to feel a little more like spring outside, and it leads us to have Spring Break Activities on our minds! If you and your family are going to be in town for spring break, come and join us for 3 great family events!

• Monday, March 19, 2012, 6:00-8:00 p.m. Skate on over and join us at Skateland (208 W. Curtis Road, Savoy, IL). Cost is $4.00 per person at the door plus $3.00 per person if you need to rent skates.
  
                                                   
• Thursday, March 22, 2012, 10:00 a.m.-12:00 noon. Bowling is always a ball when you come to this activity at Old Orchard Lanes (901 N. Dunlap Avenue, Savoy, IL). Cost is $3.50 per person per game (shoes are free to rent).
  
                                                                 
• Friday, March 23, 2012, 6:00-8:00 p.m. Cruise on over to the FCC worship center (3601 S. Staley Road, Champaign, IL) for a Drive-In Movie Night. Bring your lawn chairs, pillows, and blankets to enjoy the movie. Each family will get a "car" to decorate when they arrive, and prizes will be given out to the families with the coolest rides. Grab some snacks at the "concession stand" and enjoy Cars 2 with your family on the big screen. Don't forget to bring a friend! There is no cost for this event.

In order to have a better estimate of how many people are coming to each event, please e-mail children@fcc-online.org by Friday, March 16. In your e-mail please include your name, how many people are coming in your group for each event, and which events you are going to be attending. You will receive a confirmation e-mail from one of the children's ministers if we have received your e-mail. These are family events: parents must accompany their children!

The Great Chill

Hey parents of 1st and 2nd graders! Make sure you sign your kids up for the first EVER Great Chill event. It's happening this Sunday from 12:15-3:00 p.m. Drop your kids off at the large group room, and they will get to spend the afternoon playing on the playground, eating pizza, and watching the movie Dolphin Tale. The cost is $2 per child, and registration is required for your child to attend. You can sign up through Wednesday, February 15 by e-mailing children@fcc-online.org. Don't let your child miss out on this fun new event!

1 Spot Left for Rock-Climbing!

Hey parents! There is only 1 spot left for rock-climbing at Upper Limits on the 4th and 5th grade trip to SuperStart (March 2-3 at Eastview Christian Church in Normal, IL)! After this spot is filled, we will be taking the rest of the students who register for SuperStart! to the Eastland Mall in Bloomington to have a fun afternoon (Saturday). Full payment along with completed registration forms must be turned in so your child can participate in rock-climbing.

Registration and payment is all due by Sunday, February 5! Make sure you get it all in because your child will NOT want to miss out on an incredible weekend!

Lock-In 2012

Attention parents of kids in 3rd, 4th, or 5th grade!!

 The Lock-In is coming! February 10-11, your 3rd-5th graders are invited to stay the night at FCC. We'll have fun stations set up, games to play, movies to watch, snacks to eat (including pizza at night and donuts for breakfast), and so much more! Kids can start checking in at the playground at 7 p.m. on Friday night (enter and exit through the breezeway doors only), and pick up is from 6:00-7:00 a.m. on Saturday morning. Here's what they need to bring with them:

1. $2
2. A 2 liter of pop and a snack to share
3. Sleeping bag, pillow, and appropriate PJs (no nightgowns!)
4. They may bring their DS, iPod, or other electronic devices. DO NOT allow them to bring cell phones. **Here's the catch... FCC is not responsible for anything that is lost, stolen, or damaged. So if you are worried that something might happen to it, it might be best to not send it. There are PLENTY of fun things for them to do, and they won't be missing out if they don't bring any electronic devices with them.

If you are interested in letting your child participate in the Lock-In, you can register on the FLAP or send an e-mail to children@fcc-online.org. If you are interested in staying to help with the Lock-In, please make a note of that as well when you register your child. An emergency contact form will need to be filled out for your child when he/she is checked in.

We hope your kids can come to this really fun event! It will be a great night, and your kids will have fun spending time with their friends!

Vacation Bible School

It's coming--VBS is on its way! With the start of a new year, we can't help but think ahead to VBS this summer! This year at FCC's Vacation Bible School, we are going to take to the endless blue sky! Your children will discover that by trusting God, everything is possible!

The dates of VBS 2012 are Monday, June 25 - Friday, June 29. NOTE: This is different from the past 4 years. We will NOT be doing any VBS programming on Sunday like we have in the past. This year VBS will be from Monday-Friday.

Mark your calendars to make sure that you and your kids will be able to be part of an amazing VBS and to learn a whole lot about the great God we serve!
